Introduction:
This qualification enables learners to develop knowledge of healthy eating to analyse personal nutritional habits to improve healthy eating linked to physical and mental health.
• The nutrients required to maintain health.
• How to estimate daily energy and nutrient requirements for different goals.

Entry Requirements:
• There are no specific entry requirements
• There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading, and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2

This will be delivered over 1 day in person, so you can discuss the content with the expert nutrition tutors.

You will be expected to complete the worksheets within the portfolio provided to gain the accredited Level 2 Certificate from Active IQ.

This qualification provides progression on to:

• Fitness and Activity Leader qualifications e.g. Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing or the Active IQ Level 2 Award in Leading Health Related Activity Sessions.
• Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Promoting Community Health and Well Being.
• Other health care qualifications.

Kelly McFie

Kelly McFie is a Certified Nutritionist, with over 20 years’ experience in the health and fitness industry and five years’ experience of working in NHS Health Improvement. She is extremely passionate about behaviour change, the psychology of health, delivering evidence-based nutrition interventions to a wide variety of clients, and debunking nutrition myths. Kelly is the Director of a successful online nutrition and fitness coaching business and has previously owned two private personal training gyms. She holds a First-Class honours degree, BSc (Hons) Exercise, Physical Activity & Health, and is qualified as a L3 Personal Trainer, L3 Pre & Post Natal Exercise, L2 Gym Instructor, L2 Aqua Instructor and L2 Exercise to Music, and L3 Education & Training. Kelly is delighted to be delivering the L3 Nutrition for Exercise & Health course for Trained Academy and cannot wait to share her knowledge and experience in the field.

Sam Travis Trainer

Sam Travis

Sam is our head nutrition coach and is passionate about helping people to improve their heath, turn their lives around and achieve peak athletic performance. She’s created a nutrition service that’s proven to get long-lasting results for clients in all walks of life. Sam will take your body composition measurements, help you set goals and support you in developing positive habits. If you want to shed those extra pounds, train competitively or build your confidence, Sam will create a personalised programme that’s right for you, offer continual support and monitor your food diary to keep you on track. Alongside this, she’s a British Champion weightlifter and coaches our clients face to face and online to achieve a variety of goals.
